In 2015 Circle K started its journey on e-mobility path. Funding our EV Lab in Norway we started to evaluate vehicle charging business at our stations. From there in 2018 we’ve launched our commercial service in Norway. 2020 we started expansion in Sweden and Denmark, year after we went to Ireland and Baltics. To complement our offering, we’ve also launched B2B and Home products (charging at home, reimbursement, Utility in Norway). 

We achieved lots with our current teams, but we also need to expand. E-mobility & Energy in general is quite dynamic and an important growth area for both our company and region. We are expanding out development team located in Warsaw Circle K Business Centre. 

Circle K Business Centre is a shared service center which supports Circle K Europe operations through a wide range of services within Finance & Control, Information Technologies, Human Resources, Transport Fuel and Customer Service. 

Circle K is part of the Canadian company Alimentation Couche Tard Inc. (Couche-Tard), one of the worlds largest joint-stock convenience retail companies, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE). It has operations in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. 

You will be focused on Mobility Platforms, aiming to improve its reliability, telemetry, observability, performance, maintainability, and quality.



Qualifications and experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, system analysis or a related study (or equivalent or proven experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT Industry Development. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in support or maintenance of microservices platform as a SRE or DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience with multicloud environment (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with large-scale, distributed systems and cloud computing.
  • Proficiency in IaaS, GitOps, and CI/CD.
  • Collaborative team player with cross-cultural experience.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts, sharing knowledge effectively and crafting clean documentation.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and dynamic environments.
  • Ability to speak English at C1 level.
  • As a big advantage: experience in eMobility industry.



Role responsibilities:


  • Oversee the production environment by monitoring availability, setting up alerting and taking a holistic view of system health,
  • Integrating monitoring, alerting, ticketing, and paging systems to provide instant information in case of incident, with appropriate incident thresholds defined,
  • Defining SLI, SLA and SLO together with building dashboards to observe metrics,
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Operational support to production issues - engaging Support and Product Teams, triaging P1 production incidents,
  • Driving or participating in postmortems,
  • Defining, gathering, and analyzing metrics from all systems (operating systems, applications, PaaS like AWS, Azure) to assist in fault finding and performance tuning,
  • Forecasting and capacity planning – ensuring proper ratio of capacity/cost and efficiency of running services, avoiding over- and under-provisioning,
  • Driving or participating in postmortems,
  • Leveraging automation to perform operations to scale with load and for menial tasks (toil),
  • Building critical paths of products build on platform in cooperation with Product Teams,
  • Mapping critical paths to logical and physical resources in cooperation with Architects and DevOps,
  • Partnering with Product Teams in capacity planning,
  • Partnering with Architects, Development Teams in influencing services design and permanent resolution of defects in line with architectural principles and development practices.
  • Partnering with L1 and L2 support teams of CK external vendor (making sure that SLA and capacity are well managed)
  • Understanding business criticality of supported services,
  • Actively proposing and implementing improvements to processes, access management, change management, resource utilization and lifecycle of service,
  • Demand forecasting and capacity planning – ensuring proper ratio of capacity/cost and efficiency of running services, avoiding over- and under-provisioning,
  • Leveraging automation to perform operations to scale with load and for menial tasks (toil),
  • Building critical paths of products build on platform in cooperation with Product Teams,
  • Mapping critical paths to logical and physical resources in cooperation with Architects and DevOps.
  • Partnering with Architects, Development Teams in influencing services design and permanent resolution of defects in line with architectural principles and development practices.

Although you will not be required to code you will be expected to understand what our architects, developers and DevOps are telling you, therefore we expect you to have practical knowledge about most of below:

  • Main stack: Microservice Architecture, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka
  • Programming languages and frameworks: Java, Spring, TypeScript, Angular
  • Configuration: Terraform, Ansible
  • Observability: Grafana, Elastic Search
  • CI/CD Stack: GitHub, SONAR
  • TDD, SOLID, BDD, DRY
