Your new role
As a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building a next-generation automation platform designed to optimise compute workloads across both on-premise and cloud environments.
You will contribute to the development of high-performance distributed systems supporting complex engineering workflows, including hardware validation, benchmarking, and simulation across diverse platforms (e.g., compute clusters, emulators, FPGA, physical devices).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing and modernising HPC/HTC infrastructure
- Building distributed compute solutions spanning cloud and on-prem environments
- Designing and maintaining automation pipelines for workload execution
- Ensuring high availability and reliability of production systems (24/7 operations)
- Developing monitoring dashboards and observability tools
- Analysing workload performance and identifying optimisation opportunities
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve resource utilisation and workflows
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should combine strong technical expertise with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Key requirements:
- Solid experience in a Unix/Linux environment, including shell scripting and debugging
- Strong programming skills in Python, with a focus on performance and scalability
- Ability to analyse complex systems and troubleshoot distributed workflows
- High level of curiosity and data-driven thinking, especially in identifying anomalies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with HPC/HTC technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Slurm)
- Familiarity with Grid Engines or LSF
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and virtualisation
- Experience in observability, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Exposure to enterprise-scale cloud platforms and distributed workloads
