about-project :
You will lead and empower teams within the Money Platform at Remitly, a critical component of the remittance business. This role involves managing the Money Movement teams, which are at the core of the platform, enabling product teams to build money transfer capabilities and serve customers globally. The Money Platform is essential to the orchestration and flow of funds, supporting both the platform itself and the broader Remitly business teams.
You will need strategic, operational, and tactical leadership, with responsibilities spanning roadmap planning, scaling teams, maintaining technical excellence, and organizing processes around engineering project delivery. You will collaborate closely with other Money Platform teams such as Reconciliation, Treasury, and FinOps, as well as Product teams that utilize the platform, including Lending, Circle, and Remittance. You will set a long-term vision and guide the team to make sound engineering decisions, balancing the need for rapid delivery with critical technical investments for the future.
Key challenges include working with ambiguity, scaling teams, and collaborating on prioritizing the right capabilities for the platform. This role also offers opportunities to lead new initiatives, expand responsibilities, and have a strategic impact on the company’s future direction.
This is a hybrid position (office location: Krakow).
responsibilities :
Take care of 10+ engineers sized team
Define a multi-year technology strategy to meet customer and multi-product needs
Lead on decisions related to Remitlys technical direction and strategy
Create a positive and rewarding environment for your teams
Establish domain and team health expectations and goals
Define and meet the hiring plan for the team, accounting for long-term needs
Establish ways of working collaboratively with a global workforce, especially including Seattle and Tel-Aviv partners
requirements-expected :
Can-do attitude and client centricity mindset
BS (accepted) or MS (Preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of technical leadership experience
5+ years of managing multiple teams and domains
Experience hiring and leading Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers
Examples of creating customer experiences and building distributed systems
Experience working with executives to align technical goals with business goals
Experience with evolving industry standards and technologies
