Responsibilities:• Mainly involved in engineering, deployment, and maintenance of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.• Construct, maintain, and support database technology and infrastructure, following best practices, ensuring high availability, security, architectural guidelines, and policies.• Validate new DB versions and automate patching/upgrades.• Aid product architecture and development teams with DB technology and topology selection, POCs, and provide support throughout the development lifecycle.• Develop/maintain Python/Shell scripts to automate DB maintenance, Security remediation, lifecycle management, and Self-service offerings.• Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of escalated Level3 issues.• Formulate solutions to improve database reliability and observability• Collaborate closely with other Infrastructure engineering, product development, business operations, and technical operations to ensure the delivery of database services• Excel both as a team player and as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
• DB Engineering/Administration experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases• Strong grasp of Oracle and/or PostgreSQL architecture, internals, clustering, and associated utilities.• Strong grasp of replication technologies: MySQL Replication, Oracle Golden Gate, Oracle Dataguard, PostgreSQL.• Solid experience with Python/Ruby/Shell scripting.• Good understanding of both relational and NoSQL databases.• Solid Troubleshooting and Performance Improvement Skills.• Experience with monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana.• UNIX/Linux platform skills and understanding of operating systems, networks, storage, and security.
