Design new systems and services architecture, analyse the existing systems and design the interoperability with the new ones, eliciting system requirements and mapping business goals, requirements and priorities to components and system features.
Provide technical leadership and consultancy to the internal development team, identifying options for potential solutions and ensuring the system infrastructure is fit for purpose, whilst meeting time and budget constraints.
Build and maintain the system architecture and technical roadmap, looking ahead for improvement opportunities or blockers and ensuring decisions by the development team align with the FRONTEX strategy.
Advise product managers on the estimated effort and technical implications of the current user stories, as well as those in the backlog.
Lead the development team and development process, estimating and sizing the software developments, contributing to the systems design, testing, quality assurance, and change management. Collect, interpret, and communicate system metrics.
Elicit needs and analyse requirements; evaluate and select technologies for potential solutions. Prepare and maintain system architectural documentation and provide presentations.
Set standards in scope of design, development, quality, and testing.
Enable the reuse of well-known implantation patterns, tools, and components across the whole government service landscape and enforce FRONTEX design and development guidelines.
Provide 2nd and 3rd line support regarding bugs, or other development issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related fields (Master/PhD is a plus).
Minimum 7 years of professional hands-on experience in the development of software systems, with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in architecting software systems in Microsoft technology.
Proven track record in desig ning and deli vering complex enterprise-scale .NET/Windows solutions, being the lead architect in development in at least 2 software solutions.
Microsoft MCS D certification or equivalent.
Proficient in UML desig n with Enterprise Architect; capable of translating busines s requirements into system requirements and providing complete architectural solutions and accurate specifications to the development team.
Experience working in Scrum/Agile and in leading a technical team for agile project deli very, including Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration
Expert in systems architecting in .Net/Windows domain , in planning for capacity and security of systems, and with comprehensive knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack. Expert in software development methodologies, software li fecycle management and artefacts li ke RUP or ISO12207
Experience working with microservices (preferable OpenShift), Docker and Kubernetes, and with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps
Experience in architecting SharePoint solutions
Personal Security Clearance at EU-CONFIDENTIAL level or above
Good understanding of Open Source technologies and knowledge of other OS architectures li ke Red Hat Enterprise Li nux.
Experience with OpenShift
Experience in NoSQL databases li ke e.g. MongoDB
Experience in Angular or other fr ont-end fr ameworks
