Your career opportunity


The Group Reputational & Sustainability Risk (GRSR) team supports the Group Chief Risk & Compliance Officer in the provision of risk expertise across strategy & framework, policy, advisory and oversight, reporting & engagement for Reputational and Sustainability risks. The risk management challenges and opportunities presented by HSBC’s reputational and sustainability agenda are emerging, evolving rapidly and likely to only increase in scope and scale. As part of Group Risk Strategy, the team operates at a global level undertaking consistent and efficient identification,assessment and management of sustainability risks.


Main Duties


  • Definition of approach to Sustainability Risk
  • Creation, maintenance and refresh of Human Rights guidance
  • Annual review of existing policies against minimum standards
  • GRSR Annual Policy Attestation
  • Formulation of new policies and inclusion in the FIM
  • Communication, training and capability building with a range of stakeholders
  • Guidance on managing and mitigating Reputational, Sustainability and Human Rights Risk
  • Key stakeholder engagement regarding HSBCs Transition Plan



Requirements:


What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • A good appreciation of environmental, climate change and human rights issues and a good understanding of the
  • associated risks across different industries and geographies
  • Familiarity with HSBC’s Risk Management Approach, including risk controls
  • Knowledge of the HSBC Group’s businesses
  • Familiarity with ESG disclosures including those required under UK Modern Slavery Act.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and an ability to understand, consolidate and distil diverse and
  • complex sources of information into effective briefings and papers.
  • The ability to write concise, simple but effective polices and / or procedures on issues that may contain many
  • underlying technical complexities.
  • Proven ability to self-manage time and prioritise against competing priorities and manage ambiguity on a highly
  • complex topic which encompasses a wide range of views.
