Were on the lookout for a dynamic DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our Gen AI ambition. You will have the unique opportunity to develop and deploy advanced Generative AI (GenAI) solutions, contributing to HSBCs digital transformation and positioning it at the forefront of AI-driven banking solutions. You will be supporting over 10k frontline employees, across 50+ markets and two of HSBCs largest divisions, making a real impact on the future of banking.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated systems for deploying GenAI models, ensuring consistency and reproducibility across different environments. Improve deployment processes to streamline efficiency and reduce time to market.
  • Work closely with data scientists and software engineers to understand the requirements and constraints of GenAI models. Collaborate on model versioning, testing, and integration with existing systems.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary enhancements to ensure optimal results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in GenAI, analytics, and DevOps, ensuring HSBC remains at the forefront of innovation and maintains a competitive edge in the industry.
  • Participate in regular reviews and audits of AI-driven processes, providing insights and recommendations for improvements to ensure ongoing alignment with HSBCs strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy and security standards, safeguarding sensitive customer and business information while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive system test plans for HSBCs GenAI platform for your respective domain, ensuring the highest quality and performance of newly developed AI capabilities across various business areas.

Our requirements

  • Highly numerate with strong background in mathematical disciplines e.g., computer science (AI/ML), statistics, physics, engineering.
  • Extensive experience in DevOps or software engineering roles, with a focus on deploying and maintaining AI models or machine learning systems in production.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning tools, GenAI, Large Language Models (LLM), Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Ansible)
  • Deep knowledge of software development and experience in coding languages such as Python. C++, JavaScript or HTML are nice to have.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
  • Motivated quick thinker with innovative problem-solving skills and results oriented team player with focus on collaborative partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of preparing and communicating key messages and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
