Wroclaw office - Financial Accountant (Spanish market) - Immediate start
Location: Wroclaw
Position: The Financial Accountant – Spain (based in Wroclaw) is responsible for Spain’s management accounts in IFRS, local statutory financial statements in Spanish GAAPs and corporate tax reporting requirements. Reporting to the Finance Manager – France and Spain, the successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, external audit, and tax reporting, with solid knowledge of IFRS and Spanish GAAP (or a comparable framework such as French, Belgian, or Luxembourg GAAP). Proven experience using SAP and applying IFRS accounting standards in practice is essential, along with a background in a multicultural, international environment. The ability to work confidently in English, both written and spoken, is required, while the ability to work in Spanish or French will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities
- Ensures accurate and timely recording of business transactions in the general ledger, in line with Group policies and Spanish regulations.
- Delivers monthly management accounts in collaboration with the Shared Service Center in Delhi.
- Presents monthly management accounts to Group/Europe Finance, including payroll, P&L and balance sheet commentary.
- Reviews and reconciles balance sheet entries monthly and ensures alignment between management and statutory accounts.
- Coordinates with external chartered accountants to complete statutory accounts and finalize the corporate income tax return.
- Reconciles and reviews intercompany balances between Spanish and other office entities.
- Maintains and updates the fixed asset register.
- Drives improvements in the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of Spain’s accounting, tax and reporting processes,
- Documents Finance tasks and procedures to support knowledge sharing, backup, and the adoption of best practices.
Taxes
- Coordinates with external chartered accountants to ensure timely and compliant tax filings (VAT, CIT…) for L.E.K. Spain.
- Ensures monthly reconciliation of VAT.
- Assists the Finance Manager with tax inquiries.
Treasury
- Reviews AR and WIP tracking files prepared by Working Capital Leader on a weekly basis.
- Prepares monthly cash flow forecasts in coordination with WC Leader.
Audits
- Assists the Finance Manager with Group external audit requirements.
- Handles incoming customer circularization requests.
Payroll
- Collaborates with the payroll team to review monthly payroll data, ensuring completeness and accuracy for financial validation and payroll journal entries.
- Provides monthly payroll analysis.
Business Support
- Prepare Spain weekly revenue reporting for Europe Finance.
- Prepare weekly activity reporting for Madrid Partners.
- Actively improves the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data in Salesforce.
Budget
- Leads preparation and periodic updates of the local budget.
Minimum requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting and auditing, with solid knowledge of IFRS and Spanish GAAP (or a comparable framework such as French, Belgian, or Luxembourg GAAP).
- Experience working within the finance function of a complex or international organisation, ideally in professional services.
- Proficient in SAP and the Microsoft Office suite; experience with SAP Business ByDesign is a plus.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Ability to work in Spanish or in French an advantage.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and focus.
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Strong motivation to collaborate with Group and Europe Finance teams to drive continuous improvement in finance processes.
- Regular presence is required in the Wroclaw office each week, with flexibility on the number of days.
Qualifications
- University degree in Finance or Accounting.
- ACCA/CA/CPA qualified with at least 1-2 years’ experience post qualification.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing study and continuous professional development.
