We are looking for a VoIP Software Engineer, who will develop and maintain code that will be used in controlling the hardware and software functions of the Residential Gateways. The products powered by developed solutions comprise multiple technology domains such as Linux Kernel, Network (WiFi, DSL, VoIP, etc.), Containerization, Internet of Things, and Cloud Management. You will take part in the full development process: function specification, design, coding, test automation, and documentation. 

The work is performed closely with other parts of the organization, such as product management and customer support which leads to a good understanding and an overall impression of the full projects and products.

In the role as a VoIP software engineer there will be great opportunities to utilize a multitude of skills, primarily software design and implementation but also profiling and optimization, troubleshooting, debugging and tracing, requirement analysis, and more. 

Tasks: 

• Software development for VoIP (Asterisk, eVoice);
• Debugging your own and others’ code;
• Troubleshooting;
• Technical Documentation (English) – read and write;
• Support architectural decisions.

We offer a choice of employment form: B2B or Employment Contract: 

• UoP: 14 000 – 20 200 PLN gross/month
• B2B: 100 – 145 PLN net/hour + VAT 

You might be the perfect match if you are/have:

• MS or BS in Computer science or equivalent;
• 5+ years experience with SIP/RTP and other real-time communication protocols;
• Experience with open-source VoIP stacks in a Linux environment (preferably Asterisk);
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex SIP-related issues in a carrier-grade network using tools like tcpdump and Wireshark;
• Experience with highly scalable SIP proxies (Kamailio, OpenSIPS) is a plus;
• Scripting experience with Bash and Python;
• Embedded Linux programming in C;
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems;
• Solid understanding of OSI model, firewalls, IP routing, IP switching, VLANS, and QOS/COS;
• Hands-on experience with dial plans, IVRs, SIP, IAX, RTP, DIDs, codecs and other protocols;
• Solid understanding of traditional telephony, PRIs, BRIs, FXO/FXS, circuit-switching, POTS, PSTN, MTSO.
