We are seeking a skilled UX Designer to join our team and champion exceptional user experiences across native iOS and Android applications. The person in this role will integrate user research and data into design decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our app ecosystems while adhering to established design system guidelines.
responsibilities :
Advocate for optimal user experience by ensuring research insights and data guide all design decisions.
Collaborate closely with other Apps UX Designers, utilizing the BBC App design system guidelines.
Take direction from Senior UX Designers and occasionally lead projects independently.
Plan and facilitate workshops as required to support design initiatives.
Create a wide range of artefacts including experience maps, sketches, concepts, user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes.
Develop detailed design specifications, including accessibility requirements.
Support user research activities and iterate designs based on feedback and research findings.
Participate actively in daily cross-disciplinary routines and rituals.
Collaborate closely with Android and iOS developers to review in-progress work.
Coordinate with World Service Web UX teams to ensure cohesive and holistic user experiences.
Engage with the wider BBC design community to address shared design challenges.
Work transparently, proactively sharing work to maintain visibility throughout the design process.
Clearly communicate and justify design decisions at all stages.
Consistently advocate for the best possible user experience.
requirements-expected :
A portfolio demonstrating work across various screens and systems.
Experience crafting UX and UI solutions for native iOS and Android app platforms, with strong familiarity of Material and Human Interface guidelines.
Strong UX and UI design skills to produce high-quality, accessible design solutions.
Proficiency with Figma and other design tools, as well as collaboration and planning tools such as Jira.
Ability to use research and data effectively to inform design decisions.
Experience collaborating with professionals from diverse disciplines.
Regular pairing with developers to provide independent build support.
Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate and justify design decisions clearly.
Capability to plan and manage own workload to progress assigned tasks efficiently.
Awareness of current design trends and technology developments.
Design degree or equivalent professional experience.
