In Data Acquisition Tribe we create solutions to collect sports data globally for more than 60 different sports. We want to build yet better solutions and we want to give you a real opportunity to influence design and technology choices.

JOB PROFILE:

We are looking for a talented engineer, who relishes in a variety of data sources, shapes, protocols and technologies. We assume you feel comfortable with analysing various sources, identifying the relevant data and then finding ways to extract it efficiently. Where generalization does exist, you should be able to identify it and work with the architects and other engineers in the creation of a data extraction framework.

We expect that you can be an advocate of clean code, and clean architecture, TDD (Test Driven Development), pair programming and always welcome feedback. We hope you feel learning is a natural part of your workday and you have a high interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise.

In the role you will:

1. Analyse, extract and integrate sports oriented real-time data from a variety of complex sources, showcasing your adaptability to different protocols and technologies.
2. Collaborate with architects, tech leaders and engineers to innovate and refine data extraction frameworks, ensuring efficient handling of data streams, thus directly impacting the speed and accuracy of data-driven decisions.
3. Utilize advanced knowledge in TypeScript/JS, and modern development practices to lead and guide the team in organising themselves around optimal solutions.
4. Be a proponent of clean code and clean architecture.

Required:

1. Advanced TypeScript skills
2. Familiarity with REST API & WebSockets
3. Hands-on experience in writing tests
4. Experience in designing and working on highly scalable systems
5. Experience with Docker and K8s
6. A can-do attitude, take pride in own work and an ability to keep up momentum
7. Familiarity with various AWS services including S3, EC, VPC, ElastiCache, MSK, etc.
8. Experience with libraries and tools for web scraping/crawling, such as Puppeteer, Cheerio, Axios, or similar.
9. gRPC
10. Worked in Agile development teams
