Responsibilities
- Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking into account the hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time, and security.
- Liaising with local vendors to move goods (by road, rail, air, or sea) in accordance with customer requirements.
- Participating actively in day‑to‑day operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of operational procedures in Freight and Logistics.
- Preparing and checking shipping documents such as invoices, B/L, permit declarations, and other shipping‑related paperwork to meet all requirements and authority regulations.
- Ensuring all paperwork is in order and compliant with the company’s policies.
- Creating and maintaining a cordial business relationship with customers and operations through regular feedback and communication.
- Participating in other company projects and duties as assigned.
- Efficient, effective, and timely execution of order processing for inbound and outbound shipments (ensuring the highest levels of customer service and managing customer service discrepancies).
- Data integration from various sources and systems.
- Coordinating the execution of the transport process, communicating with customers and freight forwarders.
- Communicating and aligning with DC and warehouse representatives to ensure flawless execution of load plans.
- Monitoring, tracking, and improving day‑to‑day transport process quality and performance.
- Optimizing and automating internal and external reports and dashboards.
- Identifying and driving improvements related to logistics execution.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in transportation and/or logisticsli>
- College or university program certificate.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and German (written and spoken) – minimum B2 proficiency.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Good knowledge of the transportation market.
- Experience in handling road shipments and ideally a good understanding of other modes of transport and customs‑related processes.
- Supply Chain knowledge and in‑depth understanding of existing logistics management tools.
- Good geographical knowledge and very good command of Microsoft Office.
- “Can‑do” attitude, persuasiveness, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an international team environment within transportation and/or logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, both system‑related and operational.
