Your responsibilities
- Establishes regional export/import procedures aligning with company policy and ensures widespread company awareness and compliance with several host governments regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for monitoring, implementing and documenting processes for us within the region, particularly in the assigned countries
- Establishes/supports internal/external audits and risk assessment of the regional export/import compliance program as well as oversight of corrective action plans.
- Develops relationships with Customs and relevant local government contacts to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate trade/projects.
- Continuously monitor industry, legislative and regulatory changes and translate it into relevant business recommendations and plans through consultation with the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) Team.
- Provides regional Trade Compliance consulting, training, and knowledge sharing to designated contacts and regional businesses.
- Operates as the regional Trade Compliance escalation focal point for export and import-related issues.
- Provides internal customer and merger/acquisition support in trade compliance related areas.
- Support supply chain security and preferred shipper status programs such as AEO, or the Authorized Exporter with simplified procedures.
- Drives the EU CBAM regulatory process and reporting for Poland
- Represents us on regional export/customs committees, trade associations, and industry forums.
- Identifies regional customs compliance and cost-saving opportunities and proactively works with Global Trade Compliance and the business to implement them.
- Supports and assists in special programs and projects related to trade in the EMEA region
- Provides direct support expertise in the assigned countries and issue resolution regarding responsibility related to , customs brokerage, clearance activities and special customs procedures to achieve duty savings or accelerate/simplify customs processes.
- Manages regional trade compliance export/import record retention requirements, particularly in the assigned EMEA countries
- Oversight of cooperation with dedicated Customs Brokers according to the agreed SOPs
- Monitoring of the established KPIs with QBRs and oversees corrective action plans related to trade activities with service providers, especially with customs brokers.
- Establishes effective business partnerships and supports GTC goals and objectives to align with RA compliance strategy
- Back-up person for other EMEA Trade Compliance members : Customs/Import Lead and Export Control Lead as well as EMEA Trade Compliance Manager
- Support Export and Import Compliance reports with monthly/quarterly dashboards shared with GTC and other internal impacted teams
Our requirements
- Degree in one of relevant field, i.e., Business Administration, International Business, Trade Compliance, Corporate Law, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
- Minimum 2- 5 years of experience working for trade compliance programs for including manufacturing, import, warehousing, distribution, export, , customs brokerage, cooperation with 3PL/4PL external service providers, preferably in the EMEA region
- Proven experiences in cooperation with local customs or export control authorities
- Very good knowledge of country or regional regulatory laws and regulations focused on the EU/Swiss customs and export control requirements and the US export and re-export obligations
- Pro-active mentality to identify best practices and project management skills to implement continuous improvement capabilities in day to day operational tasks
- Excellent communication skills with clear and concise verbal and written communication
- Ability to be an effective team member in daily cooperation with internal stakeholders, e.g. from EMEA Transportation or EMEA Logistics teams
- Exceptional attention to details to analyze huge number of data and complete risk based or cost benefits analysis
- Fluent Polish and English language skills. German language as a plus
- SAP knowledge or other ERP systems used in supply chain operations with export/import activities
- Willingness to travel if required

Job Description
We are looking for a person for the position of Trade Compliance Specialist. This position must be located in Poland.
The Trade Compliance Specialist, is responsible for managing import/export compliance activities in the EMEA region, mainly in Poland and Switzerland. You will oversee export controls and sanctions, import and data analysis related to inbound and outbound operations in the assigned EMEA countries. You will provide strategic direction and guidance to important partners with a focus on our trade compliance program, as well as provide strategic reviews to our senior management team on trade related events potentially improving our business.
This position reports to the EMEA Trade Compliance Manager
Model of work for this role is hybrid.
