Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics (Łukasiewicz-IMiF) conducts the research and development in the field of advanced microelectronic and photonic technologies. It has unique technological laboratories and intellectual capital that enable it to undertake the scientific work and run the projects aimed at increasing the innovation of Polish enterprises, simultaneously creating a high-tech knowledge environment in the field of innovative materials’ production along with the technology and design of microelectronics and photonic devices, gallium nitride technology, LTCC technology, printed electronics and medical and environmental sensors. Łukasiewicz–IMiF runs numerous projects financed from domestic and foreign funds annually, the goals of which are to increase the innovation of the Polish economy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participating in scientific research, preparation of documentation and reports, co-authoring publications, and registering intellectual property
  • Presenting results at national and international conferences
  • Preparing project funding applications
  • Operating, calibrating, and monitoring thin-film deposition and characterization equipment (ALD, PECVD, ellipsometry, optical microscopes, SEM, AFM, Raman spectroscopy)
  • Planning and implementing thin-film deposition processes and analysing measurement data
  • Fulfilling commercial orders and collaborating with clients and business partners
  • Analysing of the business environment and collaborating within the research team and the Institute
  • Master’s degree or higher, or a university degree with at least one year of experience in R&D
  • Preferred fields: chemistry, physics, materials engineering, or related fields
  • Knowledge of ALD technique and experience working with ALD thin-film deposition devices
  • Experience in a chemical laboratory (preparing solution, working with aqueous and organic liquids)
  • Knowledge of characterization methods: spectroscopic ellipsometry, optical microscopy
  • Participation in conferences, training courses, and R&D projects
  • Conversational English (minimum B1 level)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office or equivalent software
  • Precision and accuracy in work
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Focus on problem-solving and goal-achieving
  • Willingness to engage in experimental work and scientific development
Specific Requirements
  • Experience in thin-film deposition using CVD, PECVD, MOCVD (MOVPE) methods
  • Knowledge of advanced characterization methods (XRD, SEM, AFM, FTIR, Raman, XPS, EDS, XRF, mass spectroscopy, NMR, resistance and mobility measurements)
  • Cleanroom experience and glovebox operation
  • Experience in implementing research results and collaborating with industry
  • Authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications or industry reports
