Role Overview

For one of our main clients based in Warsaw, Poland, we are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience and willing to work as a freelancer (ideally already set up as a freelancer in an EU member state/country – EU citizen) for an EU intergovernmental agency responsible for supporting EU Member States in coordinating and managing external border security. This role will be performed in Near‑Site meaning you must live within 2‑hour radius of the Warsaw premises. Remote working mode is possible but you must be able to go on-site upon request. Start date: 01 January 2026.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing test cases for software systems.
• Performing exploratory test sessions and reporting test results.
• Collaborating with analysts, architects, software developers, and service desk teams.
• Documenting test procedures, reviewing project documentation, and acting as test lead on smaller projects.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in ICT or Software Engineering.
• At least 1 certification such as ISTQB Advanced or equivalent; otherwise 3 years of experience in test design above required.
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and practical knowledge of software testing tools.
• Expertise in designing tests, analytical mind, attention to detail, and aptitude for quick learning.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans, coding in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, VBS, Playwright or equivalent test automation.
• Experience with SQL queries, SharePoint‑based applications, and test automation frameworks.
• Ability to interpret test results, report on test progress, and provide defect reports.
