Senior Test Automation Engineer Lead
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer Lead, you will provide strong understanding and have exposure to the Automation Framework and test management tools supported by the Test automation team. You will understand system integration, regression, end‑to‑end testing, as well as administration and implementation, planning of test tools. You will understand SDLC standards and best automation practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and implementation of the automation test strategy, standards and test plans across all assigned projects, ensuring alignment with organizational quality frameworks.
- Drive the development of automated test cases for system integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing, primarily using Java (with Python considered a strong nice‑to‑have).
- Oversee the creation and execution of SQL scripts for data validation, data preparation and test data management.
- Ensure high‑quality test design by guiding teams in creating integration and regression scenarios based on industry best practices and your own technical expertise.
- Lead the execution of automated test suites, monitor progress and provide transparent, standardized reporting to stakeholders.
- Govern the selection, adoption and effective use of test automation tools, frameworks and environments across projects.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching and training to testing teams to elevate automation maturity and delivery efficiency.
- Maintain, enhance and ensure the scalability of automation frameworks, environments and supporting tools.
- Design and implement APIs and integration layers connecting test management, defect tracking and version control systems.
- Perform advanced analysis of product requirements to ensure clarity, testability and automation feasibility across components.
- Analyze automation execution results, identify systemic issues, and deliver actionable recommendations to improve code quality, stability and performance.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments across the full project lifecycle and ensure risks are communicated, tracked and mitigated in collaboration with the Testing Center of Excellence.
- Provide regular, structured reporting (daily, weekly, milestone‑based) to senior stakeholders, including summary of progress, blockers and quality indicators.
- Ensure effective defect lifecycle management: oversee defect logging, prioritization, communication and closure in accordance with team SLAs.

Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum three years of experience in Test Automation and related tools
- Deep understanding of quality assurance
- Understanding of system integration, regression, administration and implementation
- Strong experience with SDLC standards and best automation practices.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile and Waterfall)
- SQL knowledge and database understanding
- Java programming experience (nice to have: OCAJP/OCPJP certification)
- Scripting knowledge in Java and Rest APIs required
- Good knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks
