The project involves the redesign and reimplementation of an existing mobile application for a globally operating automotive enterprise. You will work in an interdisciplinary scrum team of 10 - 12 people, cooperating with other scrum teams under the SAFe (Scrum at Scale) framework.
The client has a mobile app connecting drivers with their cars, which is actively used by millions of users daily across several markets. The development of the application began many years ago, targeting two mobile platforms (Android and iOS) with separate codebases.
Currently, the client is redesigning the mobile application using the React Native framework to implement new features in a cross-platform manner. This allows features to be written once and used on both Android and iOS without additional effort. Until the redesign is completed, the application will contain both React Native and legacy native components, commonly referred to as a brownfield application. The client is looking to establish a cross-functional, self-managing scrum team for this project.
