Data Foundation — About: The Data Foundation team makes the company’s data available, and thus builds the groundwork for the efficient use of data by all business units at VWFS. We want to make accessing data feel like shopping at a market: everything in one place, easy to find, and in reliable quality. We cover the entire process from initial data requirements to reliable integrated data provisioning for analytical, administrative, and operational purposes.
Data Engineering is the main activity at Data Foundation. Each Data Engineer ensures that data requirements have been properly defined and efficient and effective data products have been created to fulfill these requirements reliably on a day-to-day basis.
responsibilities :
As part of our Chapter Test Data and Test Automation design and implement a development and testing approach for data pipelines using test-driven development and test automation to be used by our product teams and other applications on our data platforms
Promote and establish continuous integration and delivery pipelines from development and testing perspective (technical & business test) and train the product teams on how to use them
Design, implement, test, and deploy cross-functional utility applications as well as testing and test data preparation related tools maintained by our chapter
Interact with product teams, platform operators and process owners to advance the agile way of working at Data Foundation with your ideas for development and test process improvements
requirements-expected :
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Testing data warehouse / lake products, ideally specifically with know how with ETL processes in Oracle, PL SQL, Informatica, job scheduling solutions
Setting up test automation for technical tests as well as functional product tests
Experience in working with repositories, test management tools like ALM or JIRA/XRAY
3-5 years of experience in software development (as a developer), including proven experience in setting up test automation for technical and functional product tests, tool-assisted solutions for creation of test data, establishing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., with Jenkins or Azure DevOps), and nightly builds
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
Practical experience in agile work environments (preferably based on SAFe)
Excellent English language skills (C1 level)
Very good Polish language skills (B2+ level)
Basic project management skills to coordinate cross-functional efforts and ensure timely delivery of results
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Test Automation Engineer and Oracle Developer/Database are beneficial
Familiarity with IT Service Management frameworks like ITIL are beneficial
High level of customer focus, demonstrated on several occasions
