Your role:

The primary purpose of the role is to lead component design and build for new and existing components working across multiple teams and roles for projects enhancements and production support in line with industry practices. Knowledge in an Agile, SAFe development environment will be required. The team is made up of developers, testers and a shared services team to support the environments. As a Mainframe Lead, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing and enhancing existing applications. Significant experience in programming and application maintenance in a large complex IT landscape will be required. You will play an important role in creating high-level design artifacts, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Responsibilities:

• Lead software engineering activities either at an individual level or providing designs and guidance across multiple squads comprising of up to 3-6 developers.
• Drive the development of software that meets the functional and non-functional requirements of business users and taking into consideration future maintenance requirements.
• Requirement gathering, estimation and work planning.
• Build new or enhance existing Mainframe based applications on legacy technologies.
• Lead application support, enhancement and diagnosing issues.
• Participate in creating an implementation plan as per the project level quality plan and work on go live activities.
• Respond to production issues, arrive at a solution with inputs from the stakeholders.

Required:

• Couple of years of experience in designing and developing enterprise applications using Mainframe technologies.
• Expertise and hands-on experience in working with relevant technology and applications such as COBOL, CICS Easytrive, DB2 etc.
• Basic understanding of production support, application development and design and architecture is recommended.
• Experience in working on structured (Iterative or Agile Scrum) SDLC processes.
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS/Azure), containers, and container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.

• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
• Working knowledge of production support, enhancements, problem solving capabilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Skilled with various Agile project management tools like ServiceNow and Agile framework like SAFe, Scrum, Kanban.
