Position: Technician
Department: FMD
Reports to: FMD Director
Contract: full-time, fixed-term
Responsibilities
- Oversee the work of all technical devices and installations and rectify small malfunctions;
- Relay to supervisors all information about building problems and malfunctioning equipment if unable to repair them alone;
- Initiate emergency routines in the event a dangerous situation might affect the people in the building or the building and its equipment;
- Daily lock/unlock doors at the end/beginning of the school day, or as needed;
- Daily switch on/off hall lights at the end/beginning of the school day;
- Daily lock all school windows at the end of the school day;
- Clean and polish PVC-covered floors as needed;
- Assist other technical workers (including external services) with their workload;
- Move, remove and deliver packages in the building;
- Set up furniture and equipment for school events;
- Care for the animals in the building (e.g., fish and others as needed);
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- In rare cases, assist External Grounds when delegated by the Facility Manager or Senior FMD Maintenance Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of building components such as fire systems, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and cooling systems;
- Experience in performing maintenance and simple repair work;
- Basic general construction skills;
- Basic knowledge of English preferred;
- Ability to cooperate with others in a team environment.
