Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience with consumer electronics development.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
- Experience working with mobile technologies or software hardware integration (operating systems, applications, frameworks or devices).
- Experience in embedded software development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree in an engineering or other technical field.
- 5 years of project/program management experience; Key contributor to multiple complex large scale projects, driving technically cross-functional projects across multiple organizations.
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Experience in mobile devices, hardware, software, embedded software and Android software development.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Youre equally comfortable explaining your teams analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will be responsible for managing planning and execution of end-to-end product features on Pixel devices. You´ll work with our cross-functional Hardware, Software, Product Management as well as external Pixel partners teams, effectively collaborate across geographies to deliver high quality features to our users.
Responsibilities
- Manage large scale software engineering projects working with multiple teams on cross-functional initiatives. Interface with Engineering managers and engineers across both hardware and software to estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources.
- Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders. Engage and energize the project teams to achieve goals.
- Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities. Drive results proactively.
- Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives when necessary. Ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be highly effective and develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
- Work closely with our leads and partners to ensure software and roadmap feature alignment for current and future programs.
