Your Role
As a Technical Product Manager for the Aptiv Connect Pro platform, you will help design, launch, and maintain features in our next-generation automotive data acquisition and analytics solution. In your daily job you will:
- Act as the Product Owner for your component of the Aptiv Connect Pro system — run design and planning meetings, produce formal requirements for the software engineering team, and prioritize necessary sprint tasks.
- Combine market trends, customer needs and product vision into a detailed description of what to build and convey that vision to the rest of the development team.
- Work with program management to track the implementation and deployment of software features and ensure milestones and timing are met.
- Collaborate closely with other Technical Product Managers, software teams, Scrum Masters, and colleagues in Test & Validation, DevOps, and IT.
- Develop structured test plans for verification of prototype software applications.
- Coordinate POCs to analyze the feasibility and applicability of proposed software solutions.
- Triage, root cause and resolve issues.
- Stay current in training in the latest automotive systems technology.
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a technical product leadership role for cloud-based services and applications, including the ability to make informed decisions, inspire teams, prioritize work, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience producing requirements documentation, use cases, user stories and other artifacts.
- Significant experience in Agile (Scrum) software development processes; certifications are an added advantage.
- Experience with automotive communication networks and protocols (e.g., CAN communication), vehicle data collection, vehicle data analysis, and automotive systems testing are all highly desirable.
- Experience with development of end-user web applications (especially using React / TypeScript, Java / Spring Boot) and experience with MS Azure are highly desirable.
- Track record of working effectively within large cross-functional teams, including the ability to prioritize, negotiate, and manage work across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet commitments and deliver projects within specified timelines.
- Demonstrable experience using JIRA for planning and reporting.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with multi-site teams and with international project delivery.
