  • The Data Team are part of a group services department - TTC Technology - who focus on providing technology solutions, consultancy and change management across our broad portfolio of brands. It is an exciting time to join TTC Tech – a department that is recognised as pivotal in the company’s recovery post-pandemic. Reflecting the culture of our brands, We are a ‘people’ department, highly collaborative and staff orientated. Working in partnership with 21 tourist brands, in 8 regions, the CRM & Data teams have become established as internal consultants and trusted advisors in helping our business colleagues achieve their Digital, CRM & Data goals.
  • Data is a key focus area for the business with strategic programs planned & in progress. We have a mature and established Data infrastructure, with a range of technologies underpinning our data warehousing, MDM, data integration, ETL and analytics. This role will play a leading part in further developing and enhancing our Data landscape to best suit the evolving business needs.
  • The Data Team is part of the CRM & Data Department. It is split into two workstreams; the on-premise focused ETL team, primarily based in London, and the cloud based Data Eco Snowflake team, primarily based in Poland. Both teams have an assigned Technical Product Manager. This role, which reports into the Head of Platforms- Data, will have direct management responsibilities over the existing Cloud Data Ecosystem team. This role is expected to work closely with the other Data Team TPM to ensure consistency and commonality of approach within the data infrastructure.
  • Outside of the Data Team itself, this role will also be a part of the Technical Product Manager (TPM) Forum, a cross-platform group designed to aide cross functional learning and best practice across all TTC Tech projects. It will also be expected to be part of the Architecture Working Group (AWG) to provide industry and domain specific advice when required.
  • The individual will need to be focused, driven and intellectually curious. They will play an important part in delivering technical excellence in all areas of TTC Tech, not just their own. As such, the individual will need to be able to work in larger groups and be willing to communicate and collaborate effectively within a technical forum of peers, not just focusing on their own work area. They will need to be an advocate for data culture & best practices across our department and business teams. The role is suitable for candidates looking to build their experience on global programs, with a strong delivery driven, organisational mindset.

responsibilities :


  • Team Specific
  • Manage a team of Data Engineers who are responsible for the Cloud Data Ecosystem (Snowflake)
  • Coach and mentor your team to support and develop them through this stage of their career
  • Develop and ensure that best practices are followed in all aspects of the Snowflake environment (creation and management of data, data modelling, process documentation and performance optimization)
  • Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)/ ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) solutions for transferring data between various sources and platforms
  • Automate data processing workflows using tools such as Airflow or other workflow management tools
  • Deploy and configure tools to monitor and report on the performance of the Snowflake system
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and ensure data quality
  • Advise on data strategy aligned with organizational objectives, including data governance, architecture, quality management, and integration initiatives.
  • Collaborate across teams and departments on engineering platform ingestion, orchestration, data warehouse/data lake and API strategies for the data ecosystem.
  • Work with specialist teams to ensure platforms have adequate operational coverage (release, testing, support, disaster recovery, infrastructure, security&monitoring)
  • Able to autonomously work across with stakeholders to understand their workflow specific information needs and convert them into data specifications, ensuring that business needs are met
  • Work closely with the Analytics team to ensure that all required data points for analysis are surfaced and available
  • Work with the Data ETL TPM to drive commonality in data integration and usage practices
  • Assist the Head of Platforms- Data and the wider Data Team to deliver the Data roadmap as best fits the businesses requirements, regardless of platform
  • Within TTC Tech
  • Advocate for Data within TTC Tech and the wider business, demonstrating how better, more effective use of data can solve business issues and drive better efficiencies and aide better decision making
  • Understand current technology trends, be aware of future developments and capabilities and feeding this back into TTC Tech to advise on how this could advance our capabilities
  • Work with PMO to define any specific project data deliverables and ensure their successful completion
  • Work as part of the TPM Community, willing to put forward your opinion and share knowledge with technical experts to help develop the technical possibilities within the company
  • Be a key member of the Architecture Working Group to assess the viability of new solution proposals & guide teams to build relevant and scalable solutions
  • Gain a strong understanding of the business environment today as well as long-term strategies to ensure our technology platforms are fit for purpose and future-proofed

  • Snowflake experience is required for this role
  • Proven capability in SQL, database optimisation, and effective database security implementation
  • Ability to set up end to end data pipelines in an enterprise environment, primarily using Python.
  • Proficient across many domains of data engineering, including ELT/ETL, metadata management, data integration, data management in transit and at rest and data streaming.
  • Experience of handling a variety of datasets, including batch files, API, and streaming from internal and external sources

This will also include cross-skilling of existing ETL Data Team members
