Technical Lead Frontend/CMS

The CMS Technical Lead is responsible for leading and providing technical guidance for both the organizations content management system (CMS) and the design system. This role involves ensuring the stability, security, performance, and consistency of the digital presence by managing the technical aspects of these systems.

As a team member, the technical lead will assist the team in development, handling the technical vision on supported products.

He/she will be both a technical and a human leader to support the team through its skills and practices, helping teammates to grow. He/she will also ease the communication between the team and interlocutors, especially while discussing technical topics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Bring technical expertise in the Product/Scrum Team/Squad to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Support software design and implementation according to enterprise architecture guidelines.
  • Be the first technical interlocutor for solutions which are owned by the team.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technical teams working with CMS teams.
  • Set technical direction, standards, and best practices for CMS development.
  • Analyse, design, and integrate CMS content changes into NextJS web apps.
  • Maintain and evolve CMS integration with eCommerce APIs and content model of the organization.
  • Oversee the configuration and maintenance of the CMS to align with the organizations content and digital strategies.
  • Stay informed about updates, features, and best practices of the CMS and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Collaborate with content creators, editors, and stakeholders to facilitate the efficient creation, editing, and publishing of content within the CMS.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to implement design system components and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper code quality, coverage, and documentation.
  • Promote, align, and support the best-in-class development principles (e.g., Clean Code, Clean Architecture, DDD/BDD/TDD).
  • Promote best-in-class development methodologies (e.g., Pair programming, Peer testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery).
  • Support the Team Manager in the recruitment of new talents which will be part of the Squad/Team.
  • Support the Team Manager in the continuous development of team members assigned to the Squad.

Qualifications & Skills:

Professional Qualification

  • 2+ years proven track record in the role of Frontend Tech Lead (with mentoring of developers), preferably in an international, multicultural environment.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP) for software development, including DevOps.

  • Proven track record of delivering on targets.
  • Help the team with organization, prioritization, and translation of business requirements into technical requirements.

Technical Skills

  • Proven track record as Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or Frontend Architect.
  • Proficiency in headless CMS platforms (preferably Contentful).
  • Proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (Next.JS preferably).
  • Strong understanding of design principles, user experience (UX), and accessibility.
  • Knowledge of design system best practices and principles.
  • 3+ years of HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility.
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Fluency in English—verbal and written.
