Pixel Power Management Software team leads creating and supporting software solutions to manage, measure, and monitor Pixel device power along with detection, attribution and mitigation of power issues to improve battery life for Pixel devices and for the Android ecosystem, delivering a great end‑user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a high‑performing engineering team, providing both people leadership and direct software contributions.
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced software and firmware solutions for Pixel power optimization.
  • Mentor engineers and review team designs and code to ensure technical excellence, quality, and adherence to development best practices.
  • Serve as the go‑to technical expert to debug and triage complex power issues, driving root‑cause analysis and resolution.
  • Prioritize and drive optimization goals for system power, latency, and overall stability.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development with C or C++.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
