Technical Business Analyst - Financial Services

Treliant are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with expert knowledge of the financial industry and regulatory capital applications to collaborate closely with accounting, business and technology teams within one of our large USA based clients. You will get the opportunity to collaborate closely on key financial reporting and reconciliation challenges, partnered with complex data transformation and migration projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries to support financial reporting and data analysis, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery.
  • Identify data quality or process issues and communicate effectively with finance, business, and technology teams to support resolution.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of subledger systems, focusing on data mapping, reconciliation, and reporting improvements.
  • Support migration efforts from legacy platforms to new data architectures, maintaining data integrity and compliance throughout.
  • Development of reliable ETL workflows that enable consistent movement of financial data between systems, ensuring alignment with reporting standards and business logic.

Qualifications

  • Strong educational background – Degree (Masters would be an advantage).
  • Over 3 years of experience in Technical Business Analyst positions at financial or banking clients.
  • Proven SQL development experience in a finance or banking environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, subledger processes, and reporting workflows.
  • Effective communicator with experience working across finance, business, and IT teams.
  • Familiarity with finance-related compliance standards is preferred.
  • Experience in system migration or finance transformation projects is beneficial.
  • The flexibility to work amended working hours two days a week, commencing work two hours later on flexible days to allow for wider team collaboration efforts and team meetings based within US time zones.
