Your future responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Design and build scalable systems using modern architecture patterns
- Make key architectural decisions and communicate them clearly to the team
- Evaluate new technologies and tools, then introduce the ones that add value
- Build cloud-native applications using microservices and event-driven patterns
- Ensure code quality through reviews, automation, and best practices
- Lead technical planning and estimation efforts
Team Development:
- Mentor developers on modern practices and problem-solving approaches
- Create an environment where people feel safe to experiment and learn
- Share knowledge through documentation, demos, and pair programming
- Help team members grow their skills and advance their careers
- Conduct technical interviews and help build the team
Collaboration and Innovation:
- Work with product, design, and other specialists to deliver great solutions
- Prototype quickly to validate ideas and reduce risk
- Stay curious about emerging technologies and share what you learn
- Balance moving fast with building things that last
- Drive technical improvements and modernization initiatives
What Youll Need:
Core Experience:
- 8+ years building software, with 2+ years leading technical projects
- Strong foundation in system architecture and design patterns
- Experience shipping features to production at scale
- Comfortable working with distributed teams
- Track record of mentoring other developers
Development Skills:
- Expert in at least one: Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or similar
- Understanding of databases including PostgreSQL and Redis
- Cloud platform experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with modern development tools and workflows
Architecture:
- Designing APIs that others enjoy using, whether REST or GraphQL
- Building microservices and serverless applications
- Creating systems that scale and stay reliable
- Security and performance best practices
- Event-driven architecture and message queues
Modern Tools and Practices:
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or similar
- Understanding of how to integrate modern capabilities into applications
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment
- Agile and lean development methodologies
- Test-driven development and automated testing
