About the project

Join the Delivery Experience (DEX) department, responsible for developing key logistics technologies at Allegro. We build delivery time prediction systems, optimal delivery method selection, and courier integrations. Our challenges include scalability (handling up to 60k requests per second), high performance, and engineering best practices.

We are looking for a leader who is still close to technology. In this role, you will spend around 20-50% of your time on technical work (coding, code reviews, architecture), with the remaining time focused on team development and business collaboration.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the development team (5-7 members) of Allegro’s delivery time estimation solutions – ensuring accurate, scalable, and reliable delivery predictions
  • Technical leadership – mentoring, code reviews, ensuring high code quality
  • Design and implementation of key systems (Java/Kotlin, Spring, Kubernetes)
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams - data science, data engineering, analytics, UX, operations
  • Ensuring high quality - clean code, code review, TDD, CI/CD to ensure the quality and maintainability

Our requirements

  • Experience in leading a team (Java/Kotlin) as a Tech Lead or Team Leader
  • Still actively coding and eager to maintain technical expertise
  • Strong knowledge of engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, scalable architecture)
  • Experience with high-traffic distributed systems
  • Ability to bridge technical and business perspectives
  • Proficiency in English (B2+)

Optional

  • Experience in logistics/delivery-related systems
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, ML, geolocation technologies
