About the team

Our department builds and maintains the foundational technology that empowers Allegro. We provide a modern, efficient ecosystem for hundreds of international product teams, ensuring Allegro is always available, performant, and secure. We manage everything from data centers and private cloud solutions to deployment pipelines, SDKs, and compliance tooling. In short, we create the environment that enables Allegro employees to build products efficiently.

Within this department, the Prometeusz team is responsible for Development Environments - ephemeral, isolated copies of Allegro. We provide business teams means to test their changes in isolated Allegro instances, before deploying them on production.

To make it possible we develop cutting-edge, in-house tools tailored to Allegros unique needs. We automate the whole process of creating isolated environments: from deploying multiple services, setting up network to creating and provisioning databases. This allows our developers to spin up their own copy of Allegro consisting of tens to hundreds isolated services with a single push of a button.

We are looking for people who:

1. Have a strong programming foundation: Youre proficient in Java and/or Kotlin and you can apply your coding skills to develop custom solutions, automate tasks, and integrate with existing systems.
2. Have database skills: Youre comfortable working with various databases like Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis, and you can use this knowledge to monitor database performance and health.
3. Have basic Ops skills: You have basic skills in Puppet and writing scripts (bash, Python, Go) and can apply it in practice to automate hosts management and monitoring.
4. Value engineering best practices: You advocate for clean code, code review, TDD, and CI/CD to ensure the quality and maintainability.
5. Thrive in a collaborative environment: Youre a team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Youre eager to share your knowledge and learn from others. You are comfortable collaborating closely with other teams and exploring new technologies.
