The Brothers of Charity Services in Ireland provide a variety of services and supports to over 6,500 people with an intellectual disability or autism, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford. The supports, which include residential, respite, day, host families, home based, and multidisciplinary, are provided by nearly 6,000 staff with a variety of professional backgrounds and experience.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must:

• Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU
• Or hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application is necessary)
• Be eligible for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence of application is necessary)
• Have at least 5 years post qualification/registration experience gained with an up-to-date knowledge of current thinking and practice in services for people with intellectual disability.
• Have adequate training and experience pertinent to people with challenging behavior and severe to profound Intellectual Disabilities.
• Have 3 years experience at management level in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
• Working knowledge and understanding of requirements of HIQA standards and a proven ability to implement standards and regulations.
• Possess a full clean driving licence.
• Recognise the equal rights of persons with intellectual disabilities in society and uphold and respect those rights.

Experience of working as a member of a team is essential.
