Overview

System Engineer Designing Systems for Parking Assistants, Prague, Czechia. The ultrasonic systems department is developing various types of parking assistants, from simple passive "beep" systems to active self-parking systems. Valeo’s new-generation automatic parking system, the Valeo Park4U Remote, is a fully automatic solution that allows the driver to leave the vehicle during the parking maneuver while retaining control via smartphone. The department also collaborates with other teams to continually improve functions, such as using ultrasonics for door opening control or blind spot detection at lower speeds. The System Engineer will play a key role in the development process from concept definition to validation, serial production, and presenting to the customer. The role requires a specialist with overall knowledge of the whole system including hardware, software, and mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop System Architecture Design based on system requirements, collaborating with R&D teams to ensure all sub-system interfaces are defined.
  • Liaise with the system test engineer to ensure traceability from integration test cases to System Architecture requirements.
  • Review Customer Requirements and translate them into internal System Requirements Specifications; perform engineering assessment of all Change Requests.
  • Produce and own the System FMEA in the project.
  • Perform problem management interfacing with the customer, allocate system bugs to appropriate functions, and lead a weekly review.
  • Carry out activities related to functional safety (ISO 26262) where applicable.
  • Participate in Technology, Supplier, and Tool Selection for new developments.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical area involving software, hardware, testing, etc.
  • Good level of English to communicate within international teams.
  • Flexibility to travel and a valid driving license (Category B).
  • Experience with requirements tools/design tools/SW development processes is an advantage.
  • Basic German language knowledge is an advantage.
  • Proactive, quality-oriented engineering attitude and team spirit.
