At IKEA we want to have a positive impact on people, society, and the planet. As a Sustainability Specialist, you will be the regional expert in specific sustainability areas, where you will lead and contribute to both regional and global projects to move the sustainability agenda forward. It is your responsibility to understand the local preconditions in different markets and execute the sustainability agenda of IKEA. You will support the business by implementing and verifying sustainability-related requirements. As a Sustainability Specialist, you will work in close cooperation with our stakeholders, ensuring that the sustainability agenda is an integrated part of our stakeholders development. It is your obligation to secure onboarding, training, and support for both suppliers and business units in sustainability-related topics, as well as IWAY and the associated agenda.

As a Sustainability Specialist you will also:

• Contribute to creating action plans related to the sustainability development of IKEA suppliers.
• Be responsible for planning and performing verification activities, securing timely and accurate verification information in the planning and reporting tools.
• Participate with business teams in opening new IKEA suppliers and perform sustainability risk assessments.
• Contribute to both short- and long-term sustainability compliance, according to action plans, and prepare and implement relevant activities.

Qualifications:

• University degree in sustainability, engineering, or another relevant educational background.
• Ability to connect with others and strong stakeholder management skills.
• Good presentation and communication skills.
• Experience in project management with the ability to lead projects from both a holistic and analytical viewpoint.
• Fluency in English and Polish, both written and spoken.
• Current driver’s license.
