Your responsibilities

  • Leads projects at suppliers for performance improvement by following Lean principles and using Lean tools including carrying out the necessary trainings;
  • Evaluate design of produced components/goods regarding best manufacturability and question requirements;
  • Evaluate available packaging and transportation solution in comparison with alternative scenarios for components/goods;
  • Analyze costs of serial running components and their production process and realize cost optimized scenarios according to VSM (Value Stream Mapping);
  • Support purchasing in achieving cost targets;
  • Provide cost transparency for components and/or processes within product development projects and evaluate alternative scenarios for cost - and value stream optimized component designs and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Work in close co-operation with suppliers to create the best value stream and production processes for new components/goods;
  • Build and enlarge internal knowledge for different (current and new) production processes and or transportation concepts.
  • Active participation in cost evaluation within early stage of Project Development.

Your profile

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering (Industrial-, Electrical-, Mechanical- or similar) or Business Administration with related work experience;
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with Lean tools e.g. VSM/D, 5S, Line balancing, Supermarket, Kanban, SMED, Milk Run, TPM;
  • Experience in product cost calculation highly beneficial;
  • Excellent communication & argumentation skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels, individually or in a team;
  • High self-motivation and assertiveness;
  • Fluent English;
  • Basic German skills are appreciated;
  • Willingness for frequent business trips up to 30% of total working time;
  • Experience and understanding of Production Processes at Suppliers in different branches (e.g. injection molding production, assemblies, electronics).
