Join us as a Supervisor in Client Service & Fund Accounting (Alternative Investments)

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Supervisor in Client Service and Fund Accounting to join our Alternative Investments department in the Client Service and Fund Accounting Team. In this role you will be working closely with the Team Leader and managing a team of a few financial professionals. You’ll take part in preparation and review of the NAV reporting package for Alternative Investment Funds and be part of the unique team that has insight into the end‑to‑end process and contributes to production of final deliverables for the clients. As a people manager, the Supervisor will assist in motivating, giving instruction and monitoring the performance of colleagues in the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and/or review of monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables such as Net Asset Value reporting pack for selected alternative investment funds (scope of work includes mix or selected tasks).
• Monitoring and reviewing fund’s activities in the accounting system.
• Independent review of work prepared by team members ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness of deliverables.
• Supporting team leader in communication with clients and external auditors on a regular basis.
• Ensuring timely and accurate responses to any queries.
• Developing and maintaining strong familiarity with accounting standards (i.e. Lux GAAP).
• Coaching and developing team members, providing feedback via periodic meetings and engaging in the performance appraisal process.
• Promotion of positive team atmosphere through leadership, effective communication and professionalism.
• Assisting in special projects to improve efficiency, quality and accuracy of work performed by the team.
• Ensuring adherence to all established procedures, best practices and internal controls.

Desired Qualifications

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in fund accounting and client servicing.
• Primary degree in a finance or accounting related discipline and/or equivalent work experience is an asset.
• A strong understanding of accounting practices and standards.
• Highly organized, detail‑orientated and self‑motivated.
• Pro‑active, mature and able to work with respect to the previously agreed timeline.
• Confident working with limited direct supervision.
• Strong experience in mentoring and coaching staff.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Computer literate with strong Excel skills.
• Fluency in English.
