HSBC’s Cybersecurity function is responsible for enabling businesses and functions to manage their Information and Cybersecurity risks as well as ensuring risk and controls are assessed and implemented appropriately, objectively, and independently through professional and specialized subject matter experts. In the role of Strategy, Portfolio, Execution & Consultancy oversight activities for HBCE countries you will be part of the 1st line of defence. Your key responsibilities will include the oversight of Strategy, Portfolio, Execution & Consultancy activities. You will operate as part of a global/regional team within the Cybersecurity organisation to lead activities to provide to HSBC Continental Europe the sufficient expertise, oversight and assurance around security process, controls, standards.


What you’ll do

  • Lead the development and strategy planning for HBCE cyber services. Participate in the development of HSBC’s Cyber security strategy and business plans in HBCE, in line with Group Strategy.
  • Work closely with the Global Businesses and Functions to monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, transformation initiatives and operational performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of key documentation such as reporting to HBCE and Region, governance forums including Executive Committee and Board.
  • Support on large scale business transformation programs across HSBC.
  • Drive right and strong strategies and initiatives to achieve business growth and address weaknesses.
  • Evaluate business performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage costs and resources to be within FRP and coordinate ad-hoc requests to support business growth.
  • Partner with leadership and team members to build and deepen relationships with existing and prospective strategic partners.
  • Formulate the Bank’s medium-term strategies, support execution, coordination, tracking and evaluation according to the Bank’s strategic planning framework; lead articulation and mobilisation to achieve strategic priorities; lead strategic business studies that are cross-Businesses, Functions and/or geographies in nature, derive actionable insights and make appropriate recommendations.


What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • Proven excellent technical Cyber Security knowledge and risk management skills, with prior experience in Cyber Security.
  • Develop strategy papers and reports to articulate strategic plan, strategic analysis, and business performance to support decision making, ensure bank-wide alignment and solicit approval.
  • Generalist problem-solving skills with strong conceptual, highly structured, and analytical and quantitative capabilities to deal with high level of ambiguities.
  • Effective communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills within the organization.
  • Possess sound presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated who can work independently.
  • Excellent written communication (documents and presentations), oral presentation and interpersonal skills; able to articulate conceptual ideas and strategic directives to a wide range of audience.
  • Committed, self-motivated and action-oriented personality with strong ownership and resourcefulness to drive results and performance; Ability to build a trusted-advisor relationship with working partners and senior executives.
