Strategic Procurement & Contracts Specialist (Space)



Your responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, implementation & execution of supplier & subcontractor contracts.
  • Perform analysis on business needs and challenges demand.
  • Support the acquisition process of critical items and services (typically delivery of entire subsystems) in accordance with product strategy till contract signature or the issuance of the Purchase Order.
  • Promote & enforce fair competition during supplier tender evaluation.
  • Contribute to company strategy for product categories.
  • Anticipate relevant market trends and monitor innovation in the market in terms of supply chain optimization.
  • Provide assistance in evaluation, selection & negotiation process and Tender Evaluation Board.
  • Monitor global markets, including key players, suppliers, economic evolutions, innovations and technology relevant to the space industry, in order to propose adequate & competitive solutions.
  • Support organization of competitions, assessments and selections of best suppliers for assigned category.
  • Ensure application of consultation process and the use of relevant tools to ensure clear transparency of all activities at company level.
  • Support implementation of the purchase contract.
  • Consult with suppliers: prepare & send RFx; enrich and validate the expression of need; contribute to risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Support preparation of the contract; communicate the contract terms; inform non-selected suppliers; and update the information system.
  • Enforce the conformity of procurement contracts with relevant international/national laws, company regulations and customers' requirements.
  • Archive the contract; check the execution of post-delivery obligations; record the settlement of the acquisition/lessons learnt.
  • Provide feedback to Supply Chain & Contract manager, contributing to the handover of the contract to Project Manager.
  • Support application of claim management in coordination with Supply Chain & Contract Manager.
  • Provide competitive solutions for our products/projects based on the implementation of different suppliers/methods/technologies.
  • During the execution phase of project and under the support of Supply Chain Management, ensure the maintenance of the contract.
  • Contribute to Supplier Performance Assessment led by Supply Chain Management in terms of preparation of Supplier Business Reviews.
  • Collect all data and documentation related to issues of national and international regulations, including Export Control, Health Safety & Environment, REACH and Polish law.
  • Coordinate supplier activities according to Statement of Work.
  • Monitor and understand the supplier panel.
  • Anticipate relevant market trends and monitor innovations in the market.
  • Assist the purchasing contribution to product tree for the assigned commodity providing a benchmark on current solutions including company internal products.
  • Support Product Cost Down efforts with suppliers.
  • Support Co Development activities with suppliers.
  • Manage generic acquisition process on relevant perimeter.
  • Contribute to economic performance evaluation during contract negotiation, by identifying all relevant purchasing levers.
  • Support Multi-Annual Supplier Strategy of the Space Technologies Product Office, by contributing to supplier panel recommendation and purchasing strategy.
  • Contribute to the supplier selection process.

Our requirements

  • Master in technical or commercial background (Engineering, Business).
  • Procurement experience within international context.
  • Excellent relationship skills with project teams and with the various company structures.
  • Able to work in global procurement environment and Fluent English.
  • Experience in direct purchasing.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Experience with ECSS standards.
  • Experience in the space industry in procurement role (subsystem level).
  • Open minded and proactive.
  • Curious with the willingness to improve / develop.
  • Technical and commercial background gained in the companies or general knowledge in materials and processes.
  • Strong predisposition to teamwork.
  • Availability for short-term trips (2/3 days max).
  • Organizational, priority management and progress control skills.
  • Perseverance in achieving and maintaining the commitments made.
  • Ability to manage changes in the context, tasks and workloads.
  • Knowledge of the main regulations and certifications applicable in the space sector and special processes.
  • Experience in evaluating offers / proposals and KPI.
  • Supplier management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office application systems.
