Job Description:

Statutory Reporting Accountant UK (with English)

Role Overview:

The Statutory Reporting Accountant UK is responsible to assist the Chief Accountant to direct and control all financial accounting processes for Huntsman EMEA entities in scope to ensure compliance with relevant Huntsman policies & procedures, US GAAP, statutory and fiscal requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare the yearly statutory annual accounts for entities in scope and align with external auditor, including the legal requirements.
  2. Support Tax department with the related Corporate Income Tax calculation.
  3. Quarterly assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls for key accounting processes.
  4. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  5. Month-end closing for responsible entities, including activities like revaluation & analyzing exchange differences.
  6. Preparation and execution of the monthly reporting activities.
  7. Analyse, reconcile and control GL accounts and cost centres, including Payroll accounting.
  8. Ad hoc issue solving and projects.
  9. Preparation of SOX control activities and statistical reporting.
  10. Strong cooperation with other internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Recommend proposals for improvement & efficiencies of systems and procedures.

Experience and Competencies:

We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach.

What we are looking for:

  1. At least a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferably a master.
  2. At least 5 years of accounting experience (GL or RtR), ideally in an international environment.
  3. Experience in preparing annual financial statements is ideal; partial experience is acceptable.
  4. Excellent knowledge of the English language.
  5. Knowledge of another language will be an additional asset.
  6. Strong communication skills to interact with people at different locations and on different levels in the organization.
  7. Service-minded.
  8. Excellent analytical skills.
  9. Advanced Excel skills.
  10. Pro-active attitude.
  11. Knowledge of SAP preferred.
  12. Good organization skills.
  13. Flexible, adaptable to change / prioritize.
