We are seeking talented and driven individuals to join our Data Science and Quantitative Biology Department as Senior Statisticians based in Warsaw, Poland. Our global team includes statisticians, bioinformaticians, machine learning specialists and image analysts, all working together to support the delivery of targets and molecules to the early AstraZeneca pipeline.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver analytical solutions to address key biological questions using quantitative approaches
  • Influence the design of the experiments to deliver robust data
  • Identify and explore opportunities where statistics can add value
  • Drive and influence best research and analysis practice through stakeholder management
  • Use your statistical toolkit to guide decision‑making processes across the company
  • Contribute to and lead projects
  • Engage with external collaborators via publications and presentations

Essential In The Role

We believe that your focus is set on solving challenging biological problems through partnerships. You are a specialist in your field, and you know that the best results are achieved by utilising the strengths of every individual.

You Should Also Have

  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex statistical methods to scientists with varying levels of statistical knowledge
  • Experience in data analysis and knowledge of experimental design, assay development, linear/non‑linear models, Bayesian methods and other advanced statistical modelling
  • Programming experience with tools such as R, Shiny, Julia, Stan or similar
  • PhD or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, data science or a related field
