Kolomolo is Hiring:  SRE - Dynatrace

Location: Remote (EU), Poland

RESPONSIBILITIES

The project is for a migration of an existing visibility and monitoring solution to Dynatrace solution. The existing monitoring solution monitors both cloud and DC infrastructures and applications. 

The cloud solution is based on AWS and Kubernetes and the DC is a mix of Linux and Windows with virtual servers mainly on VMWare and partially Citrix. Around 250 applications are running on this infrastructure and are monitored to various extents. 

The scope of role also includes improving and expanding the monitoring to be more effective including integrating to CMBD and other Devops tools.

• Develop performance monitoring tool alerts, dashboards, and data trend analysis.
• Implement standard methodologies for monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Collaborate with teams to optimize application performance using Dynatrace.
• Support Kubernetes monitoring using Dynatrace.
• Apply security patches to the monitoring infrastructure.
• Create and maintain monitoring dashboards.
• Use Dynatrace to perform request purepath/waterfall analysis to identify bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to monitoring and performance.
• Develop and maintain monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
• Create and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports to ensure system performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues using Dynatrace insights.
• Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Lead the development and implementation of monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
• Design and maintain complex dashboards, alerts, and reports to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
• Conduct in-depth performance analysis and troubleshooting using Dynatrace insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in monitoring and observability.

SKILLS NEEDED

• 3+ years with monitoring tools
• Experience with Dynatrace: Proven track record of using Dynatrace for application performance monitoring (APM), infrastructure monitoring, and cloud monitoring.
• Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation of monitoring tasks.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including monitoring and managing cloud-native applications.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible for deploying and managing monitoring infrastructure.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for monitoring containerized applications.
• Log Management: Experience with log management tools like ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or Splunk.
• Database Monitoring: Skills in monitoring and optimizing database performance, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Network Monitoring: Understanding of network protocols and experience with network monitoring tools.
• Security Monitoring: Knowledge of security monitoring practices and tools to ensure compliance and protect against threats.
• Performance Tuning: Ability to analyze and optimize application performance, including identifying bottlenecks and recommending improvements.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
