About the project

Our Performance Engineering team enables Egnyte to deliver high-performance, scalable, and reliable web applications. The Senior Test Performance Engineer will ensure our solutions perform at their best, even under heavy load. Through comprehensive testing, detailed analysis, and targeted optimization, He/She will identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring fast and reliable experiences for our users. These efforts contribute directly to Egnyte’s success by reducing downtime, boosting user satisfaction, and ensuring the scalability of our platform to support continued growth.

Your responsibilities

  • Create reproducible test scenarios for performance issues, triaging and resolving reported problems.
  • Develop tools to measure and monitor performance bottlenecks within web applications.
  • Collaborate with Production and Application Engineering teams to design performance testing scenarios for both code and third-party integrations.
  • Develop and run PSR (Performance, Scalability, Reliability) tests, and measure relevant performance statistics.
  • Track and ensure SLAs for core APIs are maintained across releases.
  • Conduct application and architecture code profiling to identify performance issues.
  • Perform infrastructure and application performance tuning to optimize overall system performance.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, identifying and resolving root causes.
  • Analyze large volumes of performance data to diagnose and solve performance problems.
  • Perform capacity estimation, modeling, and planning to ensure scalability and reliability.

Our requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in performance testing.
  • Proficient knowledge and strong experience with performance testing tools like Jmeter and LoadRunner, along with a deep understanding of APM solutions such as New Relic, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace
  • Hands-on experience with microservice architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GCP, and application monitoring tools.
  • Strong expertise in monitoring and analyzing application logs, database reports, and system metrics (e.g., CPU utilization, memory usage, network usage, garbage collection, and database parameters).
  • Proven ability to identify potential performance issues and provide actionable recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Extensive experience with performance, load, stress, and scalability testing.
  • Proficiency in JVM technology with strong JVM troubleshooting skills. (Another backend language will be considered by us based on other experience).
  • Linux proficiency.
  • Experience in debugging large-scale applications in production environments.
  • Expertise in JVM profiling, garbage collection (GC) analysis, and tuning.
  • English language proficienc.
