Essential Functions

  1. You will lead initiatives to architect, enhance, and build next generation products in an agile development environment.
  2. Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
  3. Write software code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java/J2EE best practices that will meet development and support requirements.
  4. Evaluate cutting edge technologies, drive towards adoption, create proof-of-concept and frameworks.
  5. Participate in all stages of development from design through implementation.
  6. Understand current posture of product ecosystem and specifics for VAS PDs solutions.
  7. Serve as subject matter expert for the major components and application domains.
  8. Drive projects that involve full stack development using Java, Spring, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks like ReactJS and Spark/Scala based processing on Hadoop platform.
  9. Drive solution architecture and technical architecture with product owners, engineers, and technical product managers to scale products to highly functional, secure, performant and resilient platforms.
  10. Excel in partnership with technical product managers, project managers and product leaders on requirements workshops and grooming, and help define joint product/technology roadmap.
  11. Drive release planning exercise, track development and testing to timely releases.
  12. Contribute to financial planning and roadmap planning for new and existing initiatives.
  13. Collaborate across engineering teams and leaders in VAS, Operations, and Infrastructure (O&I), security and platform teams.
  14. Enable and inspire teams to an innovation mindset, high levels of engagement and performance.
  15. Develop a culture of high levels of accountability and ownership with the team.
  16. Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, and implementing large components for enterprise projects.
  17. Communicate for success with partners in program management, product office, operations, and other stakeholders.
  18. Strong SDLC background in Agile/Iterative practices.
  19. Develop and measure design, code governance and delivery practices to achieve consistent high-quality releases.
  20. Help hire top software engineers.
  21. Manage multiple projects and initiatives with competing timelines and demands.
  22. Act decisively on continuous improvements to processes/tools for better developer efficiency and productivity.
  23. Lead product development with engineering teams across multiple geographies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:



10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience in Computer Science or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
  • While youll have the skill to see and understand the big picture, youre able to stay focused on the task at hand to achieve immediate goals.
  • Be systematic and be able to do deep research wanting to uncover the details.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Experience in unit testing frameworks, functional testing processes, test management and automated testing tools.
  • Experience in Docker and Kubernetes based deployments and platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools is preferred.
  • Experience in Payments platforms is preferred.
  • Have had hands-on engineering experience architecting high performant platforms.
  • Technically savvy and have deep understanding about system architecture and design best practices from building client facing high performant systems with high SLAs.
  • Experience leading development on large data processing and transaction systems.
  • Have great work ethics, and be a team player striving to bring the best results as a team.
  • Experience in roadmap planning and execution to roadmap and KPIs.
  • Experience defining metrics and measuring performance of development teams.
  • Experience leading development with engineers and teams in multiple geographical locations and time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and effective communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and growing engineering teams.
  • Experience conducting technical interviews and hiring top engineering talent.
  • Be passionate about inspiring and building a highly engaged team.
  • Be passionate about delivering zero defect code that meet or exceed the proposed defect SLA and have high sense of accountability for quality and timeliness of one’s own deliverables and team deliverables.
  • Be flexible to adapt to changing directions and priorities.
  • Be empathetic to understand engineers.
