We are currently looking for an experienced SQL Developer to support our rapidly growing client in the banking industry.
Due to regulatory requirements, the Finance IT team is carrying out a project aimed at ensuring business continuity on an alternative cloud provider in the event of a so-called Stressed Exit scenario. This involves selecting the right technologies and preparing a working solution to run key FCCC application components on the Azure platform.
Scope of work includes:
Building a new infrastructure with extensive use of Azure Databricks
Copying and migrating large volumes of data between cloud providers
Converting and verifying existing ETL processes, including complex SQL transformation logic, in the Azure environment
responsibilities :
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team on a new project to migrate existing platforms to Azure
Analyse complex data transformations in BigQuery SQL and convert them into Spark SQL
Design and execute complex ETL workflows in the Azure environment (mainly Databricks)
Use Python and open-source tools to implement automation of migration processes
Build tools supporting Big Data artefact migration between cloud providers
Automate SQL workflow conversions and prepare documentation for production teams
Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise system performance
Work closely with developers, product owners, and both business and technical stakeholders
requirements-expected :
Experience working with at least one cloud provider – preferably Microsoft Azure
Hands-on experience with ETL pipelines and large datasets
Strong command of SQL, particularly Spark SQL and/or BigQuery SQL
Deep understanding of SQL coding standards and their impact on performance
Proficiency in Python programming
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and automation tools
Experience in designing complex ETL architectures
Previous experience working in Agile environments
