Currently, we are looking for an OTT Engineer who will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing video encoding, transcoding, and distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex video streaming systems using IP protocols, knowledge of advanced networking technologies, and skills in working with video contribution and distribution systems.

Main responsibilities

• Full responsibility for configuring and managing video encoding and transcoding devices, particularly in H.264 and other video compression formats.
• Ensuring optimal performance of encoders for live and VoD (Video on Demand) streaming, and adapting them to various bandwidths and formats.
• Advanced knowledge of TS (Transport Stream), SMPTE 2110 (uncompressed video), and other standards used in video distribution.
• Operating and configuring SDN (Software Defined Networking) systems specific to video transmission, such as Nevion and Sony.
• Familiarity with encoding and decoding devices and systems, such as Mediaking and other advanced OTT solutions.
• Implementing, configuring, and optimizing encoding solutions to deliver the highest quality video streams with minimal latency.
• Responsibility for configuring and managing server and network infrastructure based on Linux environments, including installation, automation, and configuration of servers and web applications (Apache, Nginx).
• Ensuring network and server security, monitoring potential threats, and implementing solutions to enhance the security of OTT systems.
• Monitoring the operation of distributed network systems and CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) to ensure continuous video content availability and optimal performance.
• Proposing and implementing technical and business improvements to increase the efficiency and reliability of OTT systems.
• Identifying threats and sources of failure in OTT systems, quickly reporting and resolving issues, and maintaining technical documentation related to incidents.
• Incident management, escalating issues to the appropriate departments, and ensuring OTT systems meet performance expectations.
• Supporting acceptance testing for new system versions and implementing changes based on technical and business requirements.
• Creating technical documentation to support implementation and development processes.

Requirements

• Experience working with video encoding and transcoding systems, particularly with H.264 encoders and systems based on SMPTE 2110, TS, HLS, MPEG-Dash protocols.
• Deep knowledge of solutions such as Nevion, Sony, Mediaking, and other devices and systems used in video contribution and distribution.
• Experience in managing server and application infrastructure based on Linux.
• Practical knowledge of configuring web applications (Apache, Nginx).
• Skills in managing OTT system security, automating installation processes, and optimizing server performance.
• Knowledge of video transmission and content distribution protocols, such as TS, SMPTE 2110, and experience working with SDN networks specific to video.
• Experience in monitoring and managing CDN systems and distributed network systems to ensure high availability and performance of video content.
• Ability to manage technical documentation, create reports, and propose technical improvements.
• Experience in managing implementation projects and collaborating with teams responsible for system development and testing.

Experience and qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an OTT Engineer, with a focus on video encoding, transcoding, and content management systems.
• Practical experience with SDN systems (Nevion, Sony) and encoders/transcoders (e.g., Mediaking).
• Experience in managing IT systems related to television content distribution and contribution.
• Fluency in Polish and English.
• Certifications or training in OTT systems, video technologies, or IT security would be an additional advantage.
