Sourcing Manager, Eastern Europe

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers within the region to ensure cost competitiveness and high‑quality standards.
• Create a region‑specific mapping of supplier capabilities in category perspective.
• Responsible for supplier capability and technology transfer projects from HCC to CCC countries.
• Collaborate with Category Managers, BA Procurement, product owners, local production units, Supplier Quality and technology experts to understand sourcing needs and develop strategies that align with regional and business objectives.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company standards and requirements.
• Responsible for supplier capability development.
• Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay updated on regional industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive pricing.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with sourcing decisions, ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing disruptions.
• Travel extensively within the region to meet with suppliers, conduct site visits, and attend industry conferences and trade shows.

Who is the professional we are looking for?

To be successful you need a strong background in manufacturing and technologies with 5‑10 years of experience. A degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related is desirable. You are result‑oriented and have experience in different manufacturing methods, raw materials and supplier negotiations. You possess a good understanding of stakeholder management and a drive to lead change. Strong communication and intercultural negotiation skills, a cooperative attitude, genuine drive, and the ability to succeed within Valmet are essential. Fluent English, both written and oral, is required.
