PROJECT: Sourcing Manager

Together with our Partner, a global manufacturer and expert in metal technologies, including for the machinery and automotive industries, we invite you to discuss the role of Sourcing Manager.

Aim Of The Role

Continually lead best purchasing practices and sourcing activities in India and China markets.

Scope Of Main Responsibilities

• Effective execution and realization of sourcing activities cross all direct material categories (China, India & other potential countries).
• The scope of responsibility includes quoting, negotiating, sourcing, buying and managing the supplier relationships and supplier performance in support of company business requirement essentials.
• Global responsibility of ca. $20M spend in different projects.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to secure best possible cost and improve supplier performance.
• Identify cost savings opportunities, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate and generate favorable Terms & Conditions to assure seamless availability of products to support various projects.
• Lead appropriate handover process of sourced products to assigned tactical buyers after successful development; monitor & support initial mass production order progress to ensure seamless transition.
• Lead Vendor Inventory Management program to negotiate volume pricing, stocking program to support new and current product lines where is necessary.
• Maintain right level of knowledges on supplier management, market intelligence, government regulations.
• Continually drive best purchasing practices and procedures to improve supplier quality, delivery and costs.
• Work with international teams, located globally.

Requirements

• Education: BS Degree in Business or Engineering, MBA preferred.
• 5-7 years Operational Purchasing.
• Experience at LCR region (India & China) is a must have (sourcing area).
• Strategic Sourcing with 3+ years leading global initiatives.
• Desired experience in manufacturing industry.
• Business skills: leadership, strategic thinking, communications, change management.
• Familiarity and experience with Contract Law.
• Technical knowledge of castings, forgings, machining and other railway key categories.
• Management skills.
• Tactical purchasing experience.
• Expertise in technical decision making, CI and project management.
• Fluent knowledge of Polish and English.
