• Nearmap is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to shape and deliver the next generation of frontend experiences for our location intelligence platform. You’ll lead a team building responsive, accessible, and high-performance web applications that turn petabytes of aerial imagery and AI-derived data into real-time geospatial insights.

• As an Engineering Manager, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with strong people leadership. You’ll provide direction, mentorship, and hands-on support to a team of frontend engineers while collaborating closely with product, design, DevOps, and other stakeholders. You’ll champion modern development standards, improve delivery workflows, and ensure high-quality outputs at speed.

• Proven leadership experience in frontend engineering teams delivering user-focused web applications
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work with product and design teams
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and modern frontend tooling
• Strong understanding of API integration, UI performance optimisation, accessibility, and responsive design
• Familiarity with component libraries, design systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines for web apps
• Empathetic and inclusive leader with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proactive, pragmatic, and committed to high standards of technical excellence
• Comfortable working across time zones and distributed teams
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a comprehensive understanding of full-stack development principles, software architecture, and design patterns
