The Equinix Product Software Architecture & Engineering group is looking for a smart, enthusiastic, and creative thought leader with a strong background in product innovation and software engineering. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in influencing product roadmaps and lead software engineering teams to extend a scalable & highly available distributed data processing platform to handle 500TB+ of data, 2.5 million+ stream of events across 60K+ industrial IoT devices.

Software Engineering & Technical Leadership
Be a technical manager with deep experience in distributed systems and software platforms
Partner with technical product managers and other business facing functions to understand market needs; quickly translating them into demonstrable software
Be a technical manager with rich hands-on experience
Lead concept-2-deploy cycles to deliver high quality Product capabilities in a rapidly changing environment
Provide best in class Global technical customer support
Partner closely with Architects, Infrastructure & Operation teams to develop and deploy efficient solutions
Be responsible for strategic direction working closely with Product and stakeholders
Drive continuous improvements and efficiencies for software development, testing and support
Foster an innovation-oriented culture to identify new opportunities and enable the next gen
Communicate and engage effectively with executive leadership and partner groups
People & Team Management
Help engineers develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
Hire and mentor a diverse group of software engineers
Build and foster high performance engineering team by performance reviews and evaluations, providing constructive feedback, conflict resolution and stakeholder management
requirements-expected :
MS or equivalent with proven years of relevant industry experience architecting, building and operating customer facing software systems.
Proven years of demonstrated ability to recruit and manage technical teams, including performance management and managing engineers.
Proven years of technical experience in full product/platform lifecycle in an agile environment. Proven years of experience building and managing agile teams.
Pro years of hands-on technical leadership in crafting and building scalable / full stack software systems.
Hands-on programming experience in Java ecosystem.
Expertise in data modelling and event processing techniques. Experience with SQL and No-SQL technologies (Cassandra, Storm, MongoDB etc.).
Experience with multiple architecture styles including SOA, API-first and micro-services architectures.
Demonstrated experience engaging with partners and executives.
Experience in architecting and building large scale systems using scale-out architecture that require high availability, performance, high scalability and multi-tenancy.
Real-world experience with continuous integration and delivery using public cloud such as AWS, Azure or GCP and container technologies such as Docker is required.
Hands-on experience with Agile-scrum methodology having played the scrum master role previously and Test-driven development.
