Your responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision and strategy for e-commerce platform development.
- Oversee the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance e-commerce solutions.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, software craftsmanship, and modern development methodologies (TDD, BDD, CI/CD).
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, evaluating and integrating new technologies.
- Collaborate with other Software Engineering Managers and Tech Leads in Communities of Practice to define and endorse development principles and best practices across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and technical mentorship.
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle for e-commerce features and services.
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, backend, DevOps, QA) to deliver seamless e-commerce experiences.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for software quality and team efficiency.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and security of e-commerce systems.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation for efficient deployments.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and analytics to track system health and user experience.
Our requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in e-commerce, retail, or high-traffic web applications.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps environments.
- Strong background in JavaScript (React, Next.js), TypeScript, and backend development (Node.js, Java, or Python).
- Knowledge of software craftsmanship principles (Clean Code, Clean Coder, Clean Architecture).
- Knowledge of architecture design patterns.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching, and search technologies (Elasticsearch, Redis).
- Knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with headless commerce, personalization.
- Knowledge of UX and design sensibilities, wireframe tools like Abstract, Figma is a plus.
- Knowledge of tracking tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) is a plus.
- Understanding of performance, cross-browser / cross-device development, testing, optimization, and front-end performance requirements.
- Build relationships: a team player able to build and develop networks
- Change management: ability to support team members in changing environment
- Project management : helping team with organisation, prioritisation, and translation of business requirements into technical requirements

About the role
Software Engineering Manager will lead a team of frontend developers in developing Next Generation of ecommerce frontend. You will drive continuous improvements in team to deliver the best quality software.
Additionally, you will act as Lead of Ecommerce Engineering Stream (fronted and backend) to guide and support ecommerce application/services teams in delivering the best solution.
