The Platform Identity team builds the secure foundation that enables millions of users to access the Splunk and Cisco ecosystem seamlessly and safely. Your Impact

As a Software Engineer on the Platform Identity team, you will design, build, and operate the core identity services that power authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management across Splunk and Cisco products. You will architect scalable and secure APIs, unify identity systems, and serve as a subject matter expert on modern identity protocols. Your work will directly strengthen platform security, improve customer trust, and influence our long-term identity strategy. You will also explore opportunities to use AI/ML to increase automation and enhance identity protection. Success in this role means delivering reliable services, driving technical excellence, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ship impactful solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant professional experience in software engineering delivering scalable, production-grade services.

  • Hands-on expertise with identity protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and OAuth 2.0.

  • Experience designing and implementing authorization models (RBAC, ABAC).

  • Strong programming skills in C++ OR/AND Go.

  • Experience building secure, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques in the identity, security, or platform engineering space.

  • Familiarity with cloud provider IAM services (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud Identity).

  • Knowledge of directory services such as LDAP or Active Directory.

  • Contributions to open-source IAM projects or communities.

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to partner with product, security, and engineering teams.
