Job Description

Visa seeks a Software Engineer in Test – Senior Consultant to join the Treasury Test Engineering team, part of the Payments Products Development team. The candidate will be responsible for testing system infrastructure solutions for business‑critical, high‑visibility projects. This position is based in Warsaw, Poland. The role is ideal for an experienced Software Engineer passionate about testing complex business problems and ensuring excellent user experience.

The Work

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of an enterprise‑level test automation suite.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Contribute to the development of robust and scalable products for end‑user merchants, B2B, and business‑to‑government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real‑Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology.

Essential Functions

• Define test automation architecture including environments and connections.
• Organize work on test automation framework.
• Define Git‑flow and code review process.
• Implement CI working with DevOps team.
• Deep understanding of project, infrastructure, business value, and functionality.
• Define test suites, tracks test automation coverage, efficiency and stability.
• Organize tasks allocation in Test Engineering team.
• Estimate stories, create test documentation in Zephyr, test requirements.
• Define test coverage, design automation, develop tests.
• Support Test Engineering infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge and ability to develop tools and automation test code (e.g., Python, Java) in support of product testing and development.
• Experience with Jenkins, git, or other source control and CI/CD technologies.
• Experience automating test cases using Playwright, pyTest.
• Experience building and testing applications, RESTful services or microservices on a modern technology stack.
• Knowledge of Linux environments, shell scripting, deployment, and debugging.
• Knowledge of SQL databases and other modern data storage systems.
• Knowledge of data structures and their functions.
• Practical implementation of efficient Gen AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Sonnet, Aider, and similar solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness.
